Hegde says there are 358 banks, 435 ATMs and five currency chests in the district
DEPUTY Commissioner Gurudatta Hegde on Wednesday directed that all banks and their ATMs in the district must have all necessary safety measures, including closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, alarm bells, deployment of security personnel, and regular police patrolling.
Presiding over a District Level Security Committee (DLSC) meeting held at his office with officials from various banks, Hegde said there are 358 banks, 435 ATMs, and five currency chests functioning in the district. As per the guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks and currency chests must be equipped with CCTV surveillance, sirens, and fire extinguishers. These systems should be installed properly and maintained to ensure they function effectively.
