PRIME Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday hailed his third-term government's first general Budget as a "people's budget" and a "force multiplier" aimed at fulfilling the aspirations of 140 crore Indians.

- RAJESH KUMAR THAKUR @New Delhi

He emphasised that the Budget was also designed to benefit the middle class.

"The Viksit-Bharat Budget 2025-26 has a 360-degree focus on manufacturing to empower entrepreneurs, MSMEs, and small businesses. The Budget will empower the agriculture sector and boost the rural economy," the PM stated in his video reaction.

The Budget opened up opportunities for the youth, with the common citizens playing a central role in the "Viksit-Bharat" mission, he said, explaining that it would increase savings, investment, consumption, and growth. The PM said a historic inclusion in this Budget was promoting the private sector's entry into the field of nuclear energy.

He said, unlike other budgets that look to fill the government's treasury, this one aims to put more money in people's pockets and increase their savings.

He noted, in particular, the welfare initiatives for gig workers highlighted, reiterating the government's commitment to the dignity of labour. On the measures to boost manufacturing, Modi said they would help Indian products shine globally.
