Probe Unearths ₹16.84-Cr Scam in Ambedkar Corpn

The Lokayukta police have unearthed irregularities of Rs 16.84 crore in the Dr BR Ambedkar Development Corporation in Vijayapura in connection with the allotment of land to beneficiaries from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes.
Based on a complaint, the Lokayukta police registered a case on December 26, 2024, under the Prevention of Corruption Act and IPC, and conducted searches.
According to a statement from the Lokayukta office, the complainant alleged that money was misused by creating fake sale deeds in the name of beneficiaries, who were poor landless women from agricultural families, between 2014 and 2018.
