Scheme to generate 47 MW solar power
Farmers of Chikkaballapur Lok Sabha constituency no longer need to worry about electricity for their pump sets. This is because a massive project has been implemented to supply solar power to the farmers’ pump sets by installing 47 megawatt solar panels on 252 acres of land, said Chikkaballapur MP Dr K Sudhakar.
Speaking to The New Indian Express, Sudhakar said the Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has implemented many schemes to reform the agricultural sector and improve the economic condition of farmers. Among them, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha Evam Utthana Mahaabhiyan or ‘KUSUM’ scheme is the most important one.
