Farmers Won't Be Evicted, Assures Pramoda Devi

Says those tilling land in survey numbers listed by royal family can reach out to Palace office

MYSURU Royal family Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, who claimed ownership of 4,500 acres of land in Chamarajanagar taluk, has allayed the fears of the villagers and farmers, and appealed to them not to be apprehensive, as the farmers in possession of the land will not be evicted.

"Farmers tilling the land in the survey numbers listed by the royal family can reach out to the Palace office and meet the royal family members. We have every right to claim the ownership of the land as it belongs to the royal family. However, our claim will not affect hundreds of farmers who are in possession of the land and are cultivating it," she said.
