THE Kannada Sahitya Sammelana displayed unity among the religions, as people from all communities and religions participated in the procession by holding Kannada flags and shouting slogans.
Mohammed Sameer, Gavi Gowda and Prem Ganesh, students of Shree Bhuvaneshwari Model School, Arakere, pulled the Kannada Teru (chariot) themselves off the 5 km stretch, without any support from elders. The children pulled the heavy chariot with ropes. Though hundreds of people travelled on the stretch on vehicles, nobody came to their support
