Irregularities in card issuance must be dealt with strictly, says Muniyappa

- EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE @Mysuru

FOOD and Civil Supplies Minister K.H. Muniyappa has directed officials to expedite the e-KYC process for ration card holders who are yet to complete it. He stressed that efforts must be made to achieve 100% e-KYC at the earliest.

Chairing the Mysuru division-level progress review meeting of his department held at the district commissioner's office here on Friday, Muniyappa urged officials to take immediate steps to ensure that pending e-KYC processes are completed without delay.

He instructed that necessary measures should be taken to help members who have completed e-KYC.

The minister said members who have not completed the e-KYC process should be given a one-month grace period. If they still fail to complete it, their ration supply will be stopped, and they must be warned accordingly. He added that any irregularities in card issuance should be dealt with strictly, and action should be taken against the responsible officials. He also instructed the formation of awareness committees at the district-level.
