Flays Govt for Violating Karnataka Scheduled Castes Sub-Plan and Tribal Sub-Plan Act
UP in arms over the diversion of funds reserved for SC/STs under the SCP/TSP Sub Plan, the BJP has launched Janadolana to expose the state government for utilising ₹25,000 crore funds for the guarantee schemes.
The saffron party called it a betrayal of the Dalits and flayed the state government for violating the provisions of the Karnataka Scheduled Castes Sub-Plan and Tribal Sub-Plan (Planning, Allocation and Utilization of Financial Resources) Act, 2013.
Clarifying that the BJP is not against the five guarantees, former minister B Sriramulu said the state government should allocate separate funds to the tune of ₹56,000 crore for the guarantee schemes and not utilise the 24.8 per cent funds earmarked for the SC/ST welfare programmes.
