Residents Can Now Build Houses On 10 Cents Agri Land

UDUPI Urban Development Authority (UUDA) Chairman Dinakar Heroor said that the state government has amended the Zonal Regulations of Udupi-Malpe Master Plan-2021 (Revision-1), clearing hurdles for residents who wish to construct houses on small agricultural plots.
Speaking to reporters here on Saturday, he said that the state government, through a notification issued on August 25, 2025, removed the earlier restriction that barred the use of agricultural land up to 10 cents for residential construction if it was purchased after January 11, 2023. With the cut-off date now scrapped, residents owning small parcels of agricultural land within UUDA limits can build houses.
