A mock drill simulating a drone-borne bomb attack was carried out at the Indian Strategic Petroleum Reserves Limited (ISPRL) facility within the Padur village limits under Majoor gram panchayat in Kaup here on Sunday around 4 pm.
As part of the exercise, a fire was staged inside and outside the premises. Following the simulated explosion, sirens were activated to alert personnel. The district administration and police control room were informed.
ISPRL's in-house fire engine responded to the blaze within the facility, and the Adani's firefighting unit tackled the external fire and brought it under control within four to five minutes before moving inside to assist.
Additional firefighting teams from Karkala also joined the operation.
