HC Restrains Construction of Arch Near Dindigul Fort

The Vacation Bench of the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court on Wednesday restrained the Dindigul district collector and the corporation commissioner there from constructing a decorative entrance arch depicting Christian figures near the Dindigul Fort at Muthalagupatti till the court decides on a PIL petition filed against the same.
The bench of Justices S Srimathy and R Vijayakumar also issued notice to the state archaeology department and the town planning department, among others, and sought counter affidavit from all concerned within a month.
