THE recent alleged attack on a serving army colonel, Colonel Pushpinder Singh Bath, and his son by 12 Punjab Police personnel over a parking dispute in Patiala on March 13-14 has snow-balled into controversy.
It may boomerang on the Punjab government of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
On Friday, the officer's family rejected the magisterial probe the government ordered, claiming they mistrusted the government and demanded a CBI investigation. A case was registered on Friday in Police Station Civil Lines, Patiala, on the statement of Colonel Bath, who names the officers who assaulted him and describes their roles in the assault.
