Core sector growth slows down to eight-month low of 0.5% in April

THE growth in core sector output in April slumped to an 8-month low of 0.5% year-on-year owing to contraction in crude oil, refinery and fertilizer production.
This is the lowest output recorded by the core sector industries since August last year, when the index fell by 1.5%.
