System designed to streamline multiple services including obtaining an OP ticket to scheduling appointments
The days of long waits at government hospitals are becoming a thing of the past. The e-health system, designed to streamline services from getting an out-patient (OP) ticket to getting discharged from hospital, has been implemented in more than half of government hospitals in Kottayam district, effectively eliminating lengthy queues.
Currently, the service is available in 45 of 88 hospitals—from medical colleges to primary health centres—in the district. According to health department officials, it will be implemented in nine more facilities this year.
