West Bengal native gets rigorous imprisonment for murder

THE Kollam Additional Sessions Court has sentenced Sabuj Kumar Biswas, a 34-year-old native of West Bengal, to rigorous imprisonment and a fine of ₹1 lakh for the 2015 murder of a 38-year-old woman.

Additional Sessions judge Bindu Sudhakaran delivered the judgment.

According to the prosecution, Biswas, a labourer at a brick-making company in Chathannur, strangled the woman to death and fled to West Bengal.
