Proposed change suggested by consultant appointed by the national highways authority

- EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE @Kollam

The alignment of the parallel road being built as part of the Punalur-Valacode railway overbridge (ROB) project on the Kollam-Thirumangalam National Highway (NH 744) is likely to undergo a slight revision.

The proposed change was suggested by the consultant appointed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).

A fresh site inspection by the consultancy team is scheduled for next week. The final alignment will be confirmed based on their findings. Given the practical difficulties of reconstructing the existing 120-year-old bridge over the Kollam-Shenkottai railway line, the authorities have decided to construct a new parallel bridge.
