Man who sought INS Vikrant location posing as PMO official arrested

THE Kerala Police on Monday arrested a man who posed as an official from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and sought sensitive information from the Kochi naval base regarding the deployment of indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant amid heightened national security measures under Operation Sindoor.

THE Kerala Police on Monday arrested a man who posed as an official from the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) and sought sensitive information from the Kochi naval base regarding the deployment of indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant amid heightened national security measures under Operation Sindoor. The accused has been identified as Mujeeb Rahman, a resident of Elathur in Kozhikode district.

The incident occurred on the night of May 9, when the Kochi naval base received a phone call from a man identifying himself as "Raghavan", claiming to be a PMO official. He sought information about the current location of INS Vikrant.

The Naval authorities, suspecting the intent behind the call, refused to disclose any information and alerted the police promptly. The Harbour police station registered an FIR and an investigation was immediately launched.
