PROCESSING food and other biowaste generated every day in Kochi was once a challenging task for local bodies in and around the city. But that appears to be a thing of the past. It's time to export biomanure!
Around one and a half years after a biowaste treatment plant became operational at the Brahmapuram dump yard, biofertiliser produced there is set to reach Dubai, where it will be used in farming. Fabbco Biocycle, the company entrusted to process the food waste collected at Brahmapuram using black soldier fly technology, is preparing to export three containers of enriched biofertiliser produced at the plant, totalling 72 tonnes, on Tuesday. Fabbco Biocycle is a Palakkad-based company specialised in biowaste treatment using black soldier fly technology.
