SC has paused HC order banning use of small plastic bottles for drinking water in 10 tourist spots
The news circulating on social media claiming that the Supreme Court has stayed the ban on single-use plastic is false, said the district coordinator of the Suchitwa Mission. The High Court had issued an order banning the use of drinking water bottles with a capacity of less than five litres and soft drink bottles under two litres in 10 hilly tourist destinations across the state.
The same order also directed that this ban be extended to auditoriums, weddings, and public events, with implementation set for October 2. However, the Supreme Court has stayed this particular order.
