A day after senior Congress leader and former Union minister P Chidambaram sparked controversy with his comments on Operation Blue Star, sources within the party revealed that the top leadership is ‘deeply upset’ by his public remarks.
Speaking at the Khushwant Singh Literary Festival in Himachal’s Kasauli, Chidambaram described the 1984 military operation as ‘wrong,’ stating that former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi “paid the price with her life for the mistake.”
