Tens of thousands of devotees of 18th-century seer and social reformer Lord Sharanabasaveshwar witnessed the Rathotsava of the historic Sharanabasaveshwara Jatra Mahotsav in commemoration of the 203rd Punyathithi (death anniversary) of Saint Sharanabasaveshwar at the sprawling Sharanabasaveshwar Shrine Complex in Kalaburagi city on Wednesday.

The well-decorated Ratha carrying the idol of Sharanabasaveshwara was taken around the shrine complex at 5 pm on Wednesday amid slogans praising Saint Sharanabasaveshwar.

From the early hours of the day, the Sharanabasaveshwar Shrine Complex was teeming with people, particularly womenfolk who walked from their homes barefoot to the shrine with 'Neivaidya', the offerings to the main deity.
