Under new police commissioner, 42 persons involved in supply and consumption of narcotics were held in Belagavi
Launching a crusade against drug peddlers and gambling activities, the Belagavi city police have started taking action on a war-footing against rackets involved in drug supply, matka and gambling in Belagavi city.
In the span of merely one-and-a-half-months, the police teams under the guidance of new police commissioner Bhushan Gulabrao Borse have arrested 42 persons involved in supply and consumption of narcotics substances and seized over 17 kgs of narcotic substances in 20 different cases. Similarly, the police arrested 250 people in 95 different cases pertaining to matka and gambling in and around Belagavi.
