Man gets 35 years jail term for raping minor and abusing caste

ADDITIONAL District and Sessions Court (POCSO Court) of Kalaburagi has sentenced a person to 35 years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 34,000 on him for raping a minor girl from Scheduled Caste community, said Special Public Prosecutor (POCSO Court) Shantveera Tuppad here on Tuesday.
In a press note released here, Shantveer Tuppad stated that Rijwan, son of Maheboobsab Balegar belonging to the minority community, used to eve-tease a minor girl in a village that came under the jurisdiction of Wadi police station.
Even though he was repeatedly told that she was a minor, and that he should not misbehave with her, the accused continued to eve-tease her.
