KSAWU to appoint new V-C for women's varsity

WITH the ending of the tenure of Professor B K Tulasimala as the fifth Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women's University (KSAWU), the government now has to appoint a new VC for the lone women's university of the State.

It may be noted that the four-year term of Tulasimala ended about a fortnight ago, which led to the appointment of an acting VC till the government appoints a full-time VC. Presently, T Shantadevi of the university has been appointed as the acting VC. The university has seen a total of five VCs since its inception in 2003 with each VC having a tenure of 4 years.
