Death toll climbs to 4 as another devotee succumbs to burns

TWO more Ayyappa devotees, who sustained burns in a cylinder explosion and were admitted to KIMS Hospital, have succumbed to their injuries. The deceased are Raju Mugeri, 21 and Lingaraj Birnoor, 19. The death toll of the dead has now climbed to four.

Senior doctors from KIMS said that all efforts are being made to save the patients. "On Friday afternoon, the viral organs of Lingaraj started failing and he passed away. Another devotee who is undergoing treatment is critical and special care is being taken for his recovery. The expert doctors and plastic surgeons from Bengaluru are assisting and working together with the medical team of KIMS Hospital," a doctor said.
