In a bold and inspiring move, Sameera Khan, a cyclist and mountaineer from Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, is on a solo bicycle expedition to Kathmandu, Nepal, where she plans to begin her first attempt to scale Mount Everest—the world's highest peak.
Her journey is not just about reaching new heights, but also about spreading a powerful message of women empowerment and resilience.
Sameera arrived in Belagavi on Sunday as part of her ambitious journey that began from Anantapur. On Monday, she continued pedaling toward Kolhapur. Her route spans close to 7,000 kilometers, passing through Kolhapur, Pune, Mumbai, Ajmer, Delhi, and parts of Uttar Pradesh before reaching Kathmandu. She aims to cover 100 kilometers each day and reach her destination within 70 days.
