SC: Concerned Over Senior Advocate Designation Process

THE Supreme Court highlighted several flaws in the current process for designating lawyers as Senior Advocates, referring the matter to Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna to consider the need for a larger bench to address the issues raised.
The Bench of Justices Abhay S Oka and Ujjal Bhuyan expressed doubt if an interview of a few minutes could sufficiently test a candidate's personality or suitability, noting that interviews are assigned 25 out of 100 points.
