IMF Raises India GDP Projection by 20 bps to 6.4%

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has raised India's GDP growth projection in 2025-26 by 20 basis points to 6.4%, reflecting a more benign external environment than assumed in the April reference forecast.

The agency has raised FY26 growth projection by 10 bps to 6.4%. It has raised the growth forecast for China in 2025 by 80 basis points to 4.8% and by 20 bps to 4.2%. The IMF has raised the global growth projection by 20 bps to 3% for 2025 and 10 basis points to 3.1% in 2026.
