A hospital in Halligudi village has been offering complimentary medical check-ups for the residents of Gadag for the past 35 years.

- RAGHOTTAM KOPPAR @Gadag

The Halligudi health-care centre, also known as the France Inde Karnataka (FIK) Hospital, was established in 1995 by NRI Mahesh Ghatredyhal. Currently, Mahesh's daughter, Sushila Ghatredyhal, oversees the hospital's operations. At the time of its inception, there were no healthcare facilities in these rural areas and the FIK hospital has proven to be a lifeline for numerous villagers. The hospital has treated thousands of individuals by providing free medical services in this underserved region.
