India, EAEU Free Trade Talks Commence in Moscow

INDIA and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) comprising Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation signed terms of reference (ToR) on Wednesday in Moscow, marking the formal commencement of free trade agreement talks.
As per official figures, bilateral trade reached $69 billion in 2024, a 7% rise from the previous year. With the EAEU's collective GDP estimated at $6.5 trillion, the anticipated FTA is seen as a vehicle to broaden Indian exporters' reach, diversify into fresh sectors and territories, and unlock fresh opportunities for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
