Heavy stones inside Vijaya Vittala temple triggers worry among locals

Activists say if it rains heavily, then there are chances these monuments may collapse

THE Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) staffs in Hampi break their own rules by keeping heavy rock pillars inside Vijaya Vittala temple. After ongoing restoration work was stopped, ASI has retained these pillars from last four years. Now, there is a chance that other pillars its chance of damaging to others pillars due to heavy weight. Monument Protection Association members angry on ASI and requested to shift pillars outside temple until works restart.
