Farmers cautioned against falling prey to any middlemen
AFTER consistent efforts by Union Minister Pralhad Joshi and Dharwad district administration, farmers, whose green gram crops were completely damaged due to incessant rain in the Kharif season of 2024, will soon get compensation. However, the farmers are cautioned not to fall prey to any middlemen as the insurance company has released compensation due to sustained efforts of the administration, and not because of other intermediaries.
In the 2024 Kharif season, farmers from Kundagol and Shiraguppi hoblis in Dharwad district did not receive insurance compensation for the damage caused by excessive rainfall. The Agriculture Insurance Company of India had denied the release of compensation, citing technical reasons and stated that the crop-cutting survey results did not meet the required standards for insurance release in these two hoblis.
