The Congress veteran served as the 13th president from 2012 until 2017. Mukherjee, the first person from West Bengal to hold the post, died on August 31, 2020.

His daughter and noted Kathak dancer Sharmistha Mukherjee on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi to express her gratitude for honouring her father.
