Girl Made to Chase Bus on Exam Day, Staff Penalized

A Class 12 girl, who was waiting to catch a bus to the examination centre for her ongoing board exam, was forced to run behind a government bus for a short distance as it did not halt at the designated bus stop at Kothakottai in Tirupattur, despite a woman and the girl visibly signalling the bus to stop.

After a video of the incident went viral, the transport department suspended the bus driver S Muniraj, who is a permanent employee, and terminated the services of the conductor Ashok Kumar, who is a contract employee engaged on a temporary basis.
