Salem cybercrime police bust racket promoting second-hand cars, phones on social media
THE cybercrime police of Salem District (Rural) arrested two people who duped the public by offering online services such as sales of used cars and mobile phones as well as matrimonial alliances. The duo ran a call centre at Perundurai and placed online ads as part of their elaborate operation to defraud. Rajason (25) of Rajakrishnapuram in Tirunelveli district and Nithyasree (21) of Kanjikovil near Perundurai in Erode district were arrested on Wednesday following a complaint by one of their victims.
