Bodo youths lead drive to reclaim forest cover

ASSAM'S Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) government has embarked on an ambitious drive to reverse forest cover loss, designating 360 youth clubs as "Green Brigades" to spearhead afforestation and eco-friendly initiatives.
The programme forms part of the Green Bodoland Mission, launched by the BTR administration in response to global warming and the steady decline of forest resources. Officials said the mission has already planted over 3.2 lakh saplings, ranging from flowering and fruit-bearing species to timber and medicinal plants, across community and forest lands.
