CURRENTLY undergoing treatment at a hospital with 18 bite wounds inflicted by a jackal, 65-year-old Surajiya Bai Jatav in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh has emerged as a symbol of grit and bravery.

A resident of Barkhadi village under Badarwas police station of Shivpuri in the Gwalior-Chambal region, the woman had gone to the fields on Monday to collect grass for the cattle when she was attacked by a jackal at around 5 pm.
