One Detained for Gang-Rape, Murder of Girl

POLICE on Thursday detained a 24-year-old man for his involvement in the alleged gang-rape and murder of a minor girl at Laxmipatana village in Bhograi here on May 19.
The accused, Basanta Majhi, was detained on the basis of the complaint lodged by the 17-year-old victim's brother. Police said on May 19, the girl, a student of Sanskrit college in Bhograi, was alone in her house while her parents and siblings were out for some work. At aro
