DIPLOMACY, international relations and trade have dominated the news over the past few weeks.

BEIJING
Prominent leaders from around the world have met at multiple forums to discuss various issues. However, there was one notable exception from this group of leaders. China’s foreign minister Qin Gang has vanished.
Over the past three weeks, Qin has not been seen in public. The 57- year-old minister is considered as the right hand man of Xi Jinping. After serving as an ambassador to the United States, he took over the reins as Foreign Minister in December 2022. The last time the diplomat was seen in public was on June 25, after he had met with officials from Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Russia in Beijing.
