Withholding funds for not adopting PM Shri is unjustified

Amid a row between the Centre and the Tamil Nadu government, a parliamentary panel has taken a "serious note" of the withholding of funds to states for not adopting the PM Shri scheme and has described it as "unjustifiable."
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Women, Children, Youth, and Sports, led by Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Digvijaya Singh, has not only recommended the immediate release of pending funds to Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and West Bengal but also urged that the issue be "amicably" resolved.
