Tribals didn't get due recognition: PM

PRIME Minister Narendra Modi asserted on Friday that his government's priority was to ensure all-around development for the tribal communities as the NDA-led Centre has increased the budget five times for them.

Addressing a gathering in Bihar's Jamui district after kicking off the Janajatiya Divas along With initiating a slew of projects, Modi said earlier the budget for tribal development used to be less than Rs 25,000 crore, but his government has increased it to Rs 1.25 lakh crore in the last 10 years.

Notably, Jamui, with a significant tribal population, shares a border With Jharkhand, going to the second and final phase of polling on November 20.
