TATA GROUP-owned Air India on Tuesday signed purchase agreements to acquire 470 aircraft from Airbus and Boeing in a deal valued at $70 billion (based on list prices)

This fleet expansion programme was first announced in February and now signing took place on the sidelines of ongoing Paris Air Show.This announcement by Air India comes a day after rival airline IndiGo eclipsed its mega deal by placing an order of 500 planes with Airbus.
