Swimmer Palak perfects her national record

PALAK Joshi, swimmer from Maharashtra, broke her national record in the 200m backstroke event to win the gold medal at the Khelo India Youth Games on Tuesday.

Joshi, who had set her national record of 2:18.90s in the National Aquatics championships in Hyderabad last year, finished at 2:18.59 to finish at the top of the podium. Telangana swimmer Sri Nithya Sagi came second with 2:25.83s followed by Karnataka's Naisha (2:25.83s). Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu lifter RP Keerthana won golf in the 81kg, breaking snatch and overall national youth records. She lifted a total of 188kg-85kg snatch and 103kg in clean and jerk - followed by her statemate Oviya K (184kg), and UP's Santushti Choudhary (162kg).
