SP MP, legislator's son booked for Sambhal violence, Oppn cries foul

A day after violent protests led to the death of four people and left scores injured in western UP district of Sambhal, the police booked Samajwadi Party MP Zia-ur-Rehman Barq and local SP MLA Iqbal Mehmood's son Sohail Iqbal.
At least 25 people have been arrested and seven FIRs have been lodged following the clashes.
The violence triggered accusations from opposition Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav and Congress' Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Vadra. Akhilesh accused the state government of "orchestrating a riot," while Congress leaders Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra alleged the ruling party was creating a rift between Hindus and Muslims.
