THE Supreme Court on Friday adjourned the hearing of Vodafone Idea Ltd's petition challenging an additional adjusted gross revenue (AGR) demand of ₹9,450 crore raised by the Department of Telecommunications (DOT).

A Bench of the Court deferred the matter after Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, appearing for the government, sought more time. He submitted that since the Centre now holds a significant equity stake in Vodafone Idea, a workable solution must be explored in the interest of consumers. The Court was urged to list the matter for urgent hearing next Friday.
