SILVER exchange-traded funds (ETFs) tumbled up to 24% on Thursday, erasing the high premium as both global and domestic prices corrected sharply following a major climb down by president Donald Trump on his bid to annex Greenland and US conciliatory tone on India on Wednesday.

On the trade deal with India, the US president also said, “We are going to have a good deal.”
Profit booking also led to the steep correction. However as the day progressed, the metal recovered most of the losses.
Traders said the retreat from the record highs came as dollar strengthened and risk appetite improved globally, reducing demand for safe-haven assets. The slump was far sharper than moves in global spot and MCX futures, highlighting extreme volatility amid shifting risk sentiment, profit-booking and geopolitical easing.
