Lured to Punjab by NRI on pretext of marriage
RUPINDER Kaur Pandher, a 69-year-old US citizen, was brutally murdered in Kila Raipur village near Ludhiana in Punjab this July. Police say she was lured to Punjab under the pretext of marriage and killed ina plot driven by financial greed.
The case came to light when the victim’s elder sister, who lives in the US, complained to the US Embassy in India and filed a missing person‘s report after she failed to contact Rupinder, and her phone remained switched off for four days.
