Kerala CS Opens Up About Colourism & Support Pours In

WITH her social media post on discrimination due to skin colour and gender bias sparking a debate, support has been pouring in for Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan from different walks of life, with many expressing solidarity with her.
Speaking to media on Wednesday, the chief secretary called the discrimination a reflection of society's deeply ingrained prejudices. She expressed disappointment over such remarks and emphasised the need for open discussions on colourism.
Meanwhile, support is pouring in, with many expressing solidarity with her for calling out the discrimination. "It was unsettling. Beyond just an individual's remark, isn't it a reflection of a deeply internalised mindset within our society? I felt it needed to be addressed openly. That's why I wrote about it," said Sarada.
