THE ongoing debate over the alleged "extremism" perpetrated by Mughal emperors like Babur and Aurangzeb and the "patriotic credentials" of Rajput king Rana Sanga deepened on Wednesday when over a thousand Karni Sena activists vandalised Samajwadi Party (SP) Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Lal Suman's residence in Agra after he referred to Sanga as a "traitor".

Some of the protestors reportedly arrived on a bulldozer raising slogans of "Jai Shri Ram" and pelted stones. They also ransacked furniture outside the MP's house, tried to smash the gate and vandalised at least ten cars parked nearby.
