Justice Puttaswamy, who moved SC against Aadhaar scheme, dies at 98

FORMER Judge of Karnataka High Court Justice KS Puttaswamy, who challenged the Aadhaar scheme before the Supreme Court in 2012 on grounds of the Right to Privacy, passed away at his residence in the city on Monday. He was 98.

He was the lead petitioner to challenge the Aadhaar scheme on the grounds that it was introduced by the Union government without enacting a law and was only based on an executive order. He filed a writ petition before the Supreme Court, challenging the constitutional validity of it.
